Mould development in the Foundry has to be increasingly fast to meet customer`s demands. Foundrymen cannot afford to lose time in trial and error procedures to develop a new mould or new casting techniques to fulfill precise specifications. Simulation is now a good tool to rapidly understand if a mould is correctly developed to obtain parts that are free of defects. In an industrial context, it is very important to be confident with simulation results. Such a benchmark is a good way to evaluate software reliability and sensitivity levels.
