Modified method for preparation of Cp{sub 2}TaH{sub 3} by reaction between TaCl{sub 5}, CpNa, and LiAlH{sub 4} in dimethoxyethane is described. The yield of Cp{sub 2}TaH{sub 3} is 25%.
