This report describes the background to, the methology used and the results of an air quality study conducted by Tech Environmental, Waltham, Massachusetts, in cooperation with Stone & Webster Management Consultants, Inc., New York City, New York, on behalf of Mt. Hope Hydro, Inc., the developer of the Mt. Hope Waterpower Project ({open_quotes}Mt. Hope{close_quotes} or {open_quotes}Project{close_quotes}). The objective of the study was to investigate Mt. Hope`s effect on NO{sub x} and other air pollutant emissions from power plants in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states and the associated effects on air quality throughout this region. The study results demonstrate that significant air quality benefits will be achieved by introducing Mt. Hope into the regional power supply mix, in particular for the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.
