Cross sections of deuteron induced nuclear reactions on both natural molybdenum and (partially) enriched {sup 100}Mo(90%) have been studied in the frame of a systematic investigation of charged particle induced nuclear reactions on metals for different applications. The excitation functions of {sup 87g,87m,89m}Y, {sup 87m}Sr, {sup 90m}Zr, {sup 90g,90m,92m,95g,95m,96}Nb, {sup 93g,93m,94g,94m,95g,95m,96g,96m,99m}Tc and {sup 90g,93m,99}Mo were measured up to 50MeV deuteron energy by stacked foil technique. In this work we present our study of the production possibility of the medical important {sup 99}Mo-nuclide. Production of {sup 99}Mo is of importance because of its (indirect) use in nuclear medicine.
