A Moessbauer study of Eu donor centers in PbS
- Tashkent State Regional Pedagogical Institute (Uzbekistan)
The Moessbauer spectroscopy based on the {sup 151}Eu isotope is used to show that Eu centers, in the cation sublattice of PbS, play the role of an electrically active impurity: in the n-type samples, the spectra correspond to the neutral donor centers (Eu{sup 2+}), whereas the spectra correspond to the ionized state of this center (Eu{sup 3+}) in the p-type samples. For partially compensated material, the process of a fast electron transfer between the neutral and ionized centers is observed.
