Angular distribution of the Xe 5p photoelectrons was measured in the 100-200-eV photon energy range using linearly polarized synchrotron radiation. The experiment was done out of so-called dipole plane in order to obtain information also about nondipole angular distribution parameters {gamma} and {delta}. The experimentally determined angular distribution parameters were compared with theoretical values obtained from the recent calculations based on the relativistic random-phase approximation. Experiment shows that both the dipole and nondipole parameters describing the angular distribution vary in accordance with calculations which account for the interchannel coupling. In addition, relativistic effects are visible in angular distribution of the Xe 5p spin-orbit components.
