In this paper some aspects of crack propagation under mixed mode (I+III) conditions are discussed. A method of correlating crack growth rates under mixed mode (I+III) conditions with data from pure mode I fatigue tests is proposed. Known relationships for mixed mode (I+III) fatigue thresholds and the path of crack propagation in angled crack three point bend specimens for two mixed mode (I+III) loading conditions are used to demonstrate the use of the proposed method.
