Development and application status of Korea Electric Power Industry Code (KEPIC) and the features of KEPIC material standards

The Korea Electric Power Industry Code (KEPIC) is a set of rules and regulations governing the design and construction of electric power plants and their subsequent operation, generation, transmission, and distribution in Korea. This Code has been developed from the synthesis of foreign and domestic standards and applies to the entire electric power facility. It incorporates Korean electric power industry experience in construction and operation of power plants. This paper introduces the current status of KEPIC, and elucidates its philosophy and application, and provides an outline of the development of KEPIC material standards which have been tailored to suit the Korean electric power industry.
