Double-differential cross sections for the production of binary encounter electrons are reported for 30 MeV O{sup q+} collisions with molecular hydrogen, helium, and neon. These measurements are for projectile charge states q = 4-8 at zero degree laboratory angle. The experimental data are compared with the elastic scattering model of the binary encounter electrons in ion-atom collisions. The calculations of needed phase shifts were performed within the Hartree-Fock model including the exchange contributions between the continuum electron and the bound electrons of the projectile.
