The authors proposed a method for purification of strontium concentrate obtained on VPK cation exchanger in the presence of citric and chromotropic acids. The major amounts of calcium and corrosion products were removed on KU-2 cation exchanger in the presence of EDTA by frontal chromatography. This process results in separation of 95% of calcium; the obtained concentrate does not contain impurity cations. Purification by displacement chromatography on KU-2 cation exchanger in the presence of EDTA allows preparation of {sup 90}Sr with a concentration of 13.5 gl{sup -1}, chemical purity higher than 99%, and content of radiochemical impurities lower than 10{sup -3}%.
