Ti2WAl crystallizes in the orthorhombic Immm space group. The structure is one-dimensional and consists of two Ti2WAl ribbons oriented in the (1, 0, 0) direction. Ti is bonded in a linear geometry to one W and one Al atom. The Ti–W bond length is 2.20 Å. The Ti–Al bond length is 2.71 Å. W is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Ti atoms. Al is bonded in a linear geometry to two equivalent Ti atoms.
