For the various luminophors doped with neodymium and ytterbium, this quantity is different. For LiYF{sub 4} crystals, it attains a value of 0.58; for fluoride glasses, 0.79; for lithium lanthanum phosphate glasses, 0.80; and for borate glasses, 0.87. This work focuses on elucidating the relationship between the efficiency of the energy transfer from neodymium to ytterbium and the ratio of the sensitizer to acceptor concentrations in a new active material - potassium yttrium fluoride.
