The relativistic deuteron wave function in the light front dynamics depends on the relative momentum {ital {rvec q}} and on an additional variable, a unit vector {ital {rvec n}}. Because of that it is determined by six components instead of two in the non-relativistic case. These components are calculated in the one-boson-exchange model. One of them, having relativistic origin, dominates at {ital q}{ge}500 MeV/{ital c} even over S and D waves. The corresponding deuteron electromagnetic form factors are presented. {copyright} {ital 1995} {ital American} {ital Institute} {ital of} {ital Physics}.
