This work was presented at the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA) LCAXVI Conference in Charleston, SC on September 28, 2016. This presentation discusses the following considerations for prospective LCA: (1) Determine how a technology will perform when mature, (2) Define how a deployed technology will change the world around it (consequential LCA), (3) Examine how the technology will perform as the world changes around it (forecasting).
