The cost and performance of various plants designed to meet a range of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission limits are evaluated in this report by varying the CO2 capture rate. The base cases for these designs are the supercritical (SC) pulverized coal (PC) plant and the General Electric Power (GEP) integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plant from the Department of Energy (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) report “Cost and Performance Baseline for Fossil Energy Plants, Volume 1: Bituminous Coal and Natural Gas to Electricity, Revision 4” (“Bituminous Baseline”).
