A novel “hybrid” optoelectronic–spintronic (O-S) device that contains an organometal trihalide perovskite (OTP)-based solar cell or light-emitting diode coupled to an inorganic spin valve is presented. The synergy between the OTP and spin valve components results in two new functionalities: nonlinear magnetophotoconductivity and hysteretic magnetoelectroluminescence.
