Fluid-fueled nuclear reactors, such as molten salt reactors (MSRs) have recently gained significant interest. As with any reactor, modeling and simulation is a key factor for advanced reactor design and licensing and will be required for the deployment of MSRs. However, there exists significant gaps in simulation capabilities and system behavior. This paper presents the Modelica model of an MSR based off the Molten Salt Demonstration Reactor, including important physics specific to MSRs such as fission product transport.
