In the following, we describe a method of the beam based calibration of the beam position monitor (BPM) system in the NSLS-II storage ring (SR) via the LOCO (Linear Optics from Closed Orbits) technique. This method measures the orbit response matrix (ORM) and the dispersion function of the machine. The data are then fitted to a lattice model by adjusting parameters such as quadrupole and skew quadrupole strengths in the model, BPM gains and rolls, corrector gains and rolls of the measurement system. Therefore, BPM gains and rolls are obtained.
