Germanium-68, an important isotope to positron emission tomography, and {sup 95m}Tc, a valuable environmental tracer, are two of the many radioisotopes produced in spallation reactions that occur during the irradiation of molybdenum targets by the 800 MeV proton beam at the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility. These radioisotopes are found in the peroxide-dissolved molybdenum target solution and are retrieved in following the recovery of {sup 82}Sr. The recovery of the {sup 68}Ge is done by use of a Sephadex column; its purification by distillation and extraction. The recovery of {sup 95m}Tc from the Sephadex column eluate is done by use of an anion column; its purification by elution with HNO{sub 3}. The details of these methods will be described.
