Phase I of the Eurogam array has been operational in Daresbury Laboratory for the last several months. Early experiments with this powerful new spectrometer have concentrated on nuclear properties at very high spin and, in particular, several have addressed some outstanding questions regarding superdeformed nuclei. The performance of the array will be discussed. Results from several experiments will be presented including; the search for linking transitions between the superdeformed and the deformed wells in {sup 152}Dy, precision measurements of the SD intensity in {sup 152}Dy, entrance channel effects, observation of transitions between SD bands in {sup 193}Hg and the extension of several of these Hg bands to very high spin.
