This report consists of a geologic map of the surficial deposits of the Jackass Flats Quadrangle, Nye County, Nevada. The study of the surficial geology of the Jackass Flats quadrangle was undertaken in order to locate faults in this part of the Yucca Mountain region that displace Quaternary deposits. Work was done in cooperation with the US Department of Energy, Nevada Nuclear Waste Storage Investigations Project, and is part of an evaluation of a potential radioactive waste repository at Yucca Mountain, about 8 km to the west. Other areas included in the study of surficial geology of the region are shown. 12 refs., 1 fig.
