The dynamics of reorientation of the director of a nematic liquid crystal in a confined illuminated region under the action of optical radiation is considered. For the case of oblique incidence of light and low radiation intensities, an analytical solution is found describing angles of director deflection as functions of coordinates and time. The solution is obtained for arbitrary values of Franck elastic moduli. The dynamics of reorientation is determined by the processes of relaxation and diffusion. It is shown that inclusion of the diffusion term leads to the dependence of the relaxation rate on the distance from the center of the illuminated region. 23 refs., 4 figs.
