Possible forms of Cs and I radioaerosols from a NPP accident and current radioaerosol protective systems used in various countries are discussed. A new concept of environmental protection from Cs and I radioaerosols from a NPP accident is proposed. It involves precipitation and uses unconventional approaches based not on filtration of gaseous streams but on the excitation from them of radioaerosols and radioiodine by forming artificially generated inactive hydrophilic aerosols of mixed micelles and cocrystallization with them of ionic I species. The generality of the proposed concept enables it to be used for protection from radioaerosols in various reactors. The protection system may be independent or may supplement already existing protection devices.
