The generator is designed to pump an excimer discharge laser with an average emissive power of {approx} 1 kW at a pulse frequency of up to 200 Hz. The generator consists of an input section containing four parallel capacitor voltage doublers (Fitch circuits) switched by TGI1-2500/50 thyratrons and one magnetic-compression section. The generator provides 60 kV to the laser`s discharge gap, a voltage rise time of 120 nsec, and an emission-pulse energy of 3 J in an XeCl laser at a frequency of 100 Hz. 3 refs., 2 figs.
