Fringe effects during recording holographic gratings in codirectional beams in photopolymers with a diffusive recording mechanism are studied experimentally. It is shown that treatment of the material may lead to distortion of the recorded holograms. The distortions lead to changes in the grating fringe tilt, which is manifested in changes in the Bragg angle, and wide angular selectivity and its deviation from the shape predicted by Kogelnik`s theory. 7 refs., 3 figs.
