The time constant of the input circuit of a measuring amplifier is reduced by including an amplifier in the feedback loop. This reduces the time constant by a factor of {vert_bar}K{vert_bar} + 1, where K is the amplifier gain. A circuit diagram of an electrometric amplifier used in measurements is given. The gain is about 1000, the input resistance {approximately}10{sup 15}{omega}, and the zero drift with a shorted input is 100 {mu}V/h.
