Flow and transport of radionuclides in fractured tuff is simulated using the dual-porosity model in a multiphase simulator ECLIPSE. A two-dimensional model is constructed to simulate a cross section of Yucca Mountain, including stratification and heterogeneity. Both a dual-porosity dual-permeability model and a dual-porosity single-permeability model are used. The flow field is simulated and the steady-state flow field is then used to simulate the transport of {sup 239}Pu, {sup 240}Pu, {sup 241}Am, and {sup 99}Tc. The matrix diffusion is also included. Pathways for radionuclide transport and radionuclide arrival time to the water table are evaluated.
