Synthesis of soluble, cross-linkable polythiophene

Polythiophene, a conducting aromatic polymer, has limited utility because of it`s low solubility and intractibility. The conversion of polythiophene with polar pendant groups via reactive polymer intermediates was investigated. Characterization was carried out utilizing IR,NMR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
