Measurement of the {ital B} Meson Differential Cross Section {ital d}{sigma}/{ital dp}{sub {ital T}} in {ital p{bar p}} Collisions at {radical}{ital s}=1.8 TeV
This paper presents the first direct measurement of the {ital B} meson differential cross section {ital d}{sigma}/{ital dp}{sub {ital T}} in {ital p{bar p}} collisions at {radical}{ital s}=1.8 TeV using a sample of 19.3{plus_minus}0.7 pb{sup --1} accumulated by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The cross section is measured in the central rapidity region {vert_bar}{ital y}{vert_bar}{lt}1 for {ital p}{sub {ital T}}({ital B}){gt}6.0 GeV/{ital c} by fully reconstructing the {ital B} meson decays {ital B}{sup +}{r_arrow}{ital J}/{psi}{ital K}{sup +} and {ital B}{sup 0}{r_arrow}{ital J}/{psi}{ital K}{sup *0}(892), where {ital J}/{psi}{r_arrow}{mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup {minus}} and {ital K}{sup *0}{r_arrow}{ital K}{sup +}{pi}{sup {minus}}. A comparison is made to the theoretical QCD prediction calculated at next-to-leading order.
