On the lowest natural frequency of shallow arches on elastic foundations

Exact solutions are presented for the fundamental frequency in circularly curved shallow arches and circular rings on elastic foundations that, concomitantly, include the effects of extensional and shearing deformations, and moduli of elastic foundations as precisely identifiable dimensionless parameters.
