The objectives of the abandoned well closure interim response action is to locate examine and properly close wells that may be allowing, or could potentially allow, migration of contamination from upper aquifers (some of which are known to be contaminated) to deeper aquifers. This proposed decision documented provide summaries of: (1) alternatives considered; (2) significant events leading to the award of the IRA contract; (3) the IRA project; and (4) the applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements, standards, criteria, or limitations (ARAR`s) associated with the program.
