One method of generating high pulsed currents is to discharge a capacitor battery through a load. Such devices operate efficiently using controlled switches with low energy losses when they are acting and they operate for wide ranges of charging voltages. In order to conduct energy to the load at the highest rate, the intrinsic inductance of the pulsed current generators and, hence, of all their components, including the dischargers, should be minimized. The switch operates over a wide range of voltages (35-50 kV) and steadily generates a seven-channel discharge with a current pulse height of up to 300 kA.
