Design of the 28.15 MHz cavity for RHIC
- Brookhaven National Lab. (BNL), Upton, NY (United States)
The accelerating system for RHIC operates at 28.15 MHz (h=360) and must capture the injected beam, accelerate it to top energy, and shorten the bunches prior to rebucketing into the storage (h=2520) system. These different functions set the design parameters of the cavity.
