Properties of nucleon clusters produced in (p,d)Ta and (p,d) C collisions at momenta of 4.2 and 10 GeV/c per nucleon
- Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Moscow (Russian Federation)
The properties of nucleon clusters formed in (p,d)Ta and (p,d)C collisions at momenta of 4.2 and 10 GeV/c per nucleon are investigated using a Lorentz-invariant approach that treats processes of multiparticle production in the space of 4-velocities u{sub i} = p{sub i}/m{sub i}. The basic variables are the dimensionless quantities b{sub ik}={minus}(u{sub i}{minus}u{sub k}){sup 2}=2[(u{sub i}u{sub k}) {minus} 1], where p{sub i} and m{sub i} are the 4-momenta and masses of particles, respectively. In terms of the similarity parameters b{sub k} and x{sub k}, the nucleon clusters formed in these interactions are characterized by universal properties, that is, properties independent of the type of colliding particles and the collision energy. The results are compared with earlier data on the production of nucleon clusters in ({sup 4}He,{sup 12C})C collisions at a momentum of 4.2 GeV/c per nucleon and of quark jets in {pi}{sup {minus}}p,{pi}{sup {minus}}C,pp,{bar p}p, and {bar v}N collisions in the momentum interval 22.4 - 205 GeV/c. 9 refs., 8 figs., 5 tabs.
