World uranium requirements projection (1989-2000)

NUEXCO`s revised projection of uranium requirements for the years 1989-2000 shows total world (WOCA countries only) requirements of 1,645 million pounds U{sub 3}O{sub 8} through the year 2000. This translates to an average annual consumption figure of 137 million pounds, or a growth rate of 2.2 percent per year. The source report gives projections through 2005 for various market conditions and possible growth rates; however, this article covers only the reference growth case through 2000. Table 1 presents a summary of NUEXCO`s projected uranium requirements.
