Envelope solitons of electromagnetic waves in a magnetized electron-positron plasma

The propagation of a linearly polarized nonlinear electromagnetic wave parallel to a magnetic field in an electron-positron plasma is considered. Both convection and ponderomotive linearities are considered, as well as the relativistic character of the motion of the plasma particles in the wave field, to second order in the field amplitude. Conditions are obtained for the existence of soliton perturbations in various regimes. 11 refs.
