Alloys based on solid solutions of Sb{sub 2}Se{sub 3} as well as samarium selenoantimonides find application in thermo- and phototransducers. In this work, in order to study the electrophysical properties of solid solutions and compounds present in the Sb{sub 2}Se{sub 3}-SmSe system, their single crystals were grown. The (Sb{sub 2}Se{sub 3})1-x(SmSe){sub x} single crystals were grown by the Bridgman technique in evacuated (to 0.133 Pa) quartz tubes. The single crystals of the ternary compounds SmSb{sub 4}Se{sub 4}, and Sm{sub 3}Sb{sub 4}Se{sub 9} were obtained by chemical transport with iodine as a carrier.
