The determination of MDA in industrial samples and in MDA-free printed wiring boards

Methods based on reverse phase HPLC and cation chromatography have been developed for determining methylene dianiline (MDA) in industrial samples and in printed wiring board materials labeled ``MDA Free.`` Sampling methods appropriate for each material are described. Ultraviolet (UV) detection is used. Environmentally conscious manufacturing procedures are discussed, with safer alternatives to MDA being suggested.
