Steady-state saturation profiles for linear immiscible fluid displacement in porous media

In this report, relationships for steady-state saturation profiles have been derived for linear immiscible displacement in a uniform porous medium, including relative permeability and capillary pressure effects. These profiles are of constant shape and translate in the porous medium with time. The shape of these profiles has been determined for the injection of a nonwetting (wetting) fluid into a porous medium initially saturated with a wetting (nonwetting) fluid. The effect of different two-phase characteristic curves has been evaluated.
