The purpose of the Environmental Evaluation Group (EEG) is to conduct an independent technical evaluation of the potential radiation exposure to people from the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), a Federal radioactive waste repository proposed for construction underground in an area near Carlsbad, New Mexico. The objective of the EEG evaluation is to protect the public health and safety and ensure that there is no environmental degradation. 9 refs., 4 figs., 2 tabs.
