Measuring the pressure in a gas thermometer

The authors consider the error sources in pressure measurement of a constant-density gas thermometer with a main readout instrument that is an interference manometer. They also examine the corrections made and the performance of the instrument as a whole. A detailed analysis has been performed for the manometer. The effects of capillary depression are discussed. The error sources in pressure measurement are given, as are the values of the corrections in determining the height of the mercury column.
