Title: Energy and agriculture: their interacting futures. Policy implications of global models

Conference ·
OSTI ID:7027528

Papers presented at a 1982 Paris symposium discuss the global aspects of energy-agriculture interaction, but often use details of local situations for clarification and illustration. The papers are grouped under the general topics of the food-energy problem, modeling and systems approach, and resource management. Four emerging problems (the energy-intensity of the green revolution, the fuelwood crisis, the shift from food to energy production, and the effect of high energy prices on the trade balances of developing countries) lend themselves to global modeling techniques. Separate abstracts were prepared on 18 papers for the Energy Data Base (EDB) and Energy Abstract for Energy Analysis (EAPA).
