Simultaneous measurements of (p,p{prime}) and (p,p{prime}{gamma}) observables for 1{sup +} states in {sup 12}C at 200 MeV

We have made measurements of the ({tilde p}, {tilde p}`) singles observables d{sigma}/d{Sigma} two linear combinations of D{sub LL`}, D{sub LS`}, D{sub SL`}, and D{sub SS`}, as well as the coincident ({tilde p}, p` {gamma}) yields and asymmetries (including the sideways and longitudinal analyzing powers D{sub 0S} and D{sub 0L}) for the two dominant 1{sup +} states in {sup 12}C over a laboratory angle range of {theta}{sub p} = 5{degrees} to 15{degrees} for an incident proton energy of 200 MeV. These measurements were performed using IUCF`s K600 spectrometer and associated FPP in conjunction with 4 19-packs of BaF{sub 2} provided by ORNL. Contained in these data is sufficient information for a model-independent determination of the scattering amplitude for the 15.11 MeV, 1{sup +}, T=1 state in {sup 12}C. Comparison of the data with relativistic and nonrelativistic calculations will be shown.
