The purpose of the Sierra Cooperative Ozone Impact Assessment Study (SCOIAS) was to characterize ozone concentration and meteorological conditions in mixed conifer forests on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada. The report summarizes the data collected in 1993. The major tasks were to continue aerometric monitoring at six stations in five national forests, and to measure leaf water potential as a factor influencing ozone uptake by pine trees growing near the monitoring stations. The six stations were located at Mountain Home in the Sequoia, Shaver Lake and Jerseydale in the Sierra, Five-Mile in the Stanislaus, Sly Park in the El Dorado, and White Cloud in the Tahoe National Forests.
