Title: Searching for exotic $B$ -meson decays enabled by the CMS L1 track trigger

Abstract

The CMS phase II track trigger may allow for a displaced dimuon vertex trigger with qualitatively lower p_T thresholds than existing dimuon triggers. With this technique, we show that the CMS reach for exotic B-meson decays involving a displaced dimuon resonance, such as a light, Higgs-mixed scalar, can be competitive with that of LHCb and Belle II.

Searching for confining hidden valleys at LHCb, ATLAS, and CMS

We explore strategies for probing hidden valley scenarios exhibiting confinement. Such scenarios lead to a moderate multiplicity of light hidden hadrons for generic showering and hadronization similar to QCD. Their decays are typically soft and displaced, making them challenging to probe with traditional LHC searches. We show that the low trigger requirements and excellent track and vertex reconstruction at LHCb provide a favorable environment to search for such signals. Explaining $g_{μ} - 2$ and $R_{K^{(*)}}$ using the light mediators of $U (1)_{T 3 R}$

Scenarios in which right-handed light Standard Model fermions couple to a new gauge group, U(1)_T3R, can naturally generate a sub-GeV dark matter candidate. But such models necessarily have large couplings to the Standard Model, generally yielding tight experimental constraints. We show that the contributions to g_u-2 from the dark photon and dark Higgs largely cancel out in the narrow window where all the experimental constraints are satisfied, leaving a net correction that is consistent with recent measurements from Fermilab.
