London penetration depth at zero temperature and near the superconducting transition
Abstract
Herein, a simple relation is established between the zero- penetration depth and the slope of near , similar to Helfand-Werthamer's relation for and the slope of at for the isotropic -wave case with nonmagnetic scattering. When the scattering parameter ( is the Fermi velocity and is the mean free path) varies from 1 to 10, the coefficient of proportionality between and changes from 0.43 to 0.38. Combining this relation with the Rutgers thermodynamic identity, one can express in terms of the slope and the density of states.
