Lutetium functionalities supported by a sterically encumbered β-diketiminate ligand
Abstract
The sterically encumbered NacNac ligand, [HC(MeCNAr)2]– (Ar = 2,6-i-Pr2C6H3), was investigated as a platform for supporting Lu-halide complexes, sought for their potential capability of being further converted into hydrocarbyl derivatives via metathetical chemistries with alkali metal alkyls. As a result, these substituted analogs were targeted as potentially viable candidates for alkane elimination chemistries, with an eye towards the formation of an isolable Lu-alkylidene fragment.
