In this work, many-body potentials up to fourth order in the expansion are constructed using non-relativistic, scalar-relativistic and relativistic coupled-cluster theory to accurately describe the interaction between superheavy oganesson atoms. The obtained distance dependent energy values were fitted to extended two-body Lennard-Jones and three-body Axilrod-Teller-Muto potentials, with the fourth-order term treated through a classical long-range Drude dipole interaction model. From these interac tion potentials, spectroscopic constants for the oganesson dimer and solid state properties were obtained. Carbon-proton scalar couplings in RNA. 3D heteronuclear and 2D isotope-edited NMR of a [sup 13]C-labeled extra-stable hairpin

Long range carbon-proton scalar couplings were measured for an RNA hairpin of 12 nucleotides using 3D and [sup 13]C-edited 2D NMR. The large one-bond carbon-proton scalar couplings ([sup 1]J[sub CH]) and small n-bond couplings ([sup 1]J[sub CH]) produce ECOSY type cross-peaks, thus facilitating the determination of the sign and magnitude of the smaller [sup 2]J[sub CH] or [sup 3]J[sub CH]. The interaction of the functional groups in the polyurethane foam adsorbent Penopurm{sup ®} with the cations of some 3d-metals upon their extraction from aqueous solutions has been studied by atomic emission spectroscopy, UV/Vis and vibrational IR spectroscopy, and quantum chemical simulation using density functional theory. Penopurm{sup ®} absorbs 3d-metal cations from aqueous solutions in the pH range 5–7. Some spectral criteria have been found indicating a predominant interaction of Ni{sup 2+} ions with various fragments of the polyurethane foam structure.
