We revisit the recent limits from LHCb on a Majorana neutrino N in the mass range 250–5000 MeV [R. Aaij et al. (LHCb Collaboration), Phys. Rev. Lett. 112, 131802 (2014).]. These limits are among the best currently available, and they will be improved soon by the addition of data from Run 2 of the LHC. LHCb presented a model-independent constraint on the rate of like-sign leptonic decays, and then derived a constraint on the mixing angle V_{μ 4}based on a theoretical model for the B decay width to N and the N lifetime. Limits on the mass of the right-handed Majorana neutrino

We derive limits on the mass of the right-handed Majorana neutrino (N-italic/sub R-italic/) in terms of the mass of the right-handed W-italic/sub R-italic/ boson in left-right-symmetric theories of weak interactions from the recent results on lifetime for neutrinoless double-..beta.. decay of /sup 76/Ge as well as from theoretical considerations of vacuum stability.

New limits on the mass of majorana neutrino and right-handed heavy bosons

In double ..beta..-decay, the nuclear matrix element can be used to set new limits on the mass of Marjorana electron neutrinos or right-handed heavy W bosons. We also suggest derivation of the double ..beta..-decay matrix element from the forward angle cross sections for a double Gamow-Teller (0/sup +/ ..-->.. 0/sup +/) transitions via the (..pi..,/sup -/..pi../sup +/) double charge exchange on a /sup 48/Ti target. After corrections for distortion effects and the pion-two nucleons effective interaction the cross sections are equal to the square of the double ..beta..-decay matrix elements.
Limits of Majorana neutrino mass from combined analysis of data from {sup 76}Ge and {sup 136}Xe neutrinoless double beta decay experiments

We present effective Majorana neutrino mass limits obtained from the joint analysis of the recently published results of {sup 76}Ge and {sup 136}Xe neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ) experiments, which was carried out by using the Bayesian calculations. Nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) used for the analysis are taken from the works, in which NMEs of {sup 76}Ge and {sup 136}Xe were simultaneously calculated. This reduced systematic errors connected with NME calculation techniques. The new effective Majorana neutrino mass limits less than [85.4–197.0] meV are much closer to the inverse neutrino mass hierarchy region.

A search for heavy right-handed Majorana or Dirac neutrinos NR and heavy right-handed gauge bosons WR is performed in events with a pair of energetic electrons or muons, with the same or opposite electric charge, and two energetic jets. The events are selected from pp collision data with an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb^-1 collected by the ATLAS detector at √s = 13 TeV. No significant deviations from the Standard Model are observed. The results are interpreted within the theoretical framework of a left-right symmetric model and lower limits are set on masses in the heavy right-handed W boson and neutrino mass plane.
