An extension to the soft collinear effective theory description of hard jets is motivated to include the leading contributions between the propagating partons within the jet with partons radiated from a dense extended medium. Soft spectator scattering in the nucleon form factors at large Q{sup 2} within the soft collinear effective theory approach

The proton form factors at large momentum transfer are dominated by two contributions which are associated with the hard and soft rescattering, respectively. Momentum flow correlations from event shapes: Factorized soft gluons and soft-collinear effective theory

The distributions of two-jet event shapes contain information on hadronization in QCD. Near the two-jet limit, these distributions can be described by convolutions of nonperturbative event shape functions with the same distributions calculated in resummed perturbation theory. The shape functions, in turn, are determined by correlations of momentum flow operators with each other and with lightlike Wilson lines, which describe the coupling of soft, wide-angle radiation to jets. We observe that leading power corrections to the mean values of event shapes are determined by the correlation of a single momentum flow operator with the relevant Wilson lines. We review recent results concerning the all-order structure of infrared and collinear divergences in massless gauge theory amplitudes. While the exponentiation of these divergences for nonabelian gauge theories has been understood for a long time, in the past couple of years we have begun to unravel the all-order structure of the anomalous dimensions that build up the perturbative exponent. Factorization of soft and collinear divergences in QCD in the Feynman gauge via a background field gauge

We prove Ward-type identities which are needed in the proof of factorization of the Drell-Yan process. Previous treatments prove them only for an axial gauge, and the proofs are diagrammatic in nature. We, on the other hand, establish the identities for the Feynman gauge and through symmetry considerations at the Lagrangian level. Our strategy is to first derive exact results in a background field gauge and then to show that to leading order in the mass divergences the background-field-gauge results can be used in the Feynman gauge.
